5th at Nationals

A massive logistical effort to coordinate the transportation of 2 Surf Boats, 30 rescue boards, 25 surf skis’, a team of 60 athletes and their families & supporters was well rewarded by the Orewa Surf Lifesaving Clubs performance at the National Champs held at New Brighton, Christchurch last weekend.

The team delivered a very respectable 5th place performance overall in much colder South Island conditions then they are typically used to be competing and training in.

Interim Head Coach Ben Parker is delighted with the continued performance of the squad – “I am more than stoked to come in 5th overall - It was an amazing weekend in Christchurch and although we faced freezing temperatures and less than ideal conditions we put in one of the best efforts by an Orewa squad in recent history.
